× 30 temporary 911 dispatchers to be hired in Memphis MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Thirty new 911 part-time dispatchers will be hired by Memphis to help with the number of calls coming into the call center. Three full-time staff will also be hired. Council members say currently the dispatchers fail to meet national standards for 911 call response. The standard is 95% of calls being answered within 20 seconds.
